Sell Your Albums Online at Your Live Shows
47Alot of bands take their cds with them to shows to sell and this is great. However there are times when your audience doesn't have cash on hand. So how do you sell them your music without cash? Accept credit cards. I know what you're thinking "I don't want to have to go through the whole credit card processing thing". We're gonna show you how to do it as painlessly as possible.
Step 1 - Open a free Paypal account
Step 2 - Purchase a domain name such as "www.YourBandLive.com" at Godaddy.com for only $7.99
Step 3 - Build a very simple webpage with your cd on it as well as some shirts if you have them. No need to make it fancy. You're only using it as a store front.
step 4 - Use a laptop with a wireless card and take it to your shows.
Now at your Merchandise booth have your laptop set up. Make sure you are on the page with your new online merch store. When people come to the booth make sure you let them know they can purchase online right at your booth. Also be sure to announce it a couple of times during the show. You can also offer a discount if they purchase online right there on the spot. A trick we like to use is to hide the address bar so people can't remember the url and then purchase the album or merch later at a discounted rate. Use this technique and you will be guaranteed to increase your sales.
